Community-Campus Partnerships for Health (CCPH) 15th Anniversary Conference
Community-Campus Partnerships for Health (CCPH) is convening their 15th Anniversary Conference, April 18-21, 2012 in Houston, TX USA, to nurture a growing network of community-campus partnerships that are striving to solve our most pressing health, social and economic challenges.
Whether you are directly involved in community-based participatory research, service-learning or other community-academic partnerships - or are working to ensure the conditions are in place for such partnerships to thrive and have impact - the conference is designed to challenge and inspire you!
Regardless of the social justice issue you are passionate about - health equity, education, environmental justice, food security, sustainability, indigenous rights and so forth - together, CCPH conference attendees will explore how to leverage partnerships to create change.
Conference highlights include:
- Intensive pre-conference workshops, skill-building workshops, educational exhibits, thematic poster presentations, community site visits and many opportunities for informal networking
- A plenary participatory performance by El Teatro Lucha de Salud delBarrio, a dynamic group that is applying Paulo Freire's philosophy of education and Augusto Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed to advance environmental justice in Texas.
- A special celebration with major conference partner, St. Luke's Episcopal Health Charities, the area's largest charity focused solely on health and well-being and also marking its 15th anniversary in 2012
- An opportunity to explore Houston, with its many community-campus partnerships, tourist attractions, and warm and sunny spring climate
KEEP THESE IMPORTANT DEADLINES IN MIND:
